Description

The sheer view from the top of this line will keep that coffee you drank before your tour flowing. Wildy 1 is a high consequence line that slides into an alpine lake set in a glacial moraine. Tough to get to and harrowing to ride, this is a genuine thriller. Know before you go.

This line is known by some as Big Al's Run, a backcountry homage to one of the community's legendary resident skiers and guides.

Large avalanche in Wildy 1 which occurred between January 17th and 20th 2018. This is one of the reasons Taos Ski Valley doesn't have backcountry gates and has a closed boundary policy. This is the first chute south of the ski area on Kachina Peak.
